❓Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these damage my honeycomb bed?

No. LaserLok bars sit directly on the honeycomb bed, but they’re engineered for safe contact.

The bottom surface is completely smooth, and the weight is spread flat across the honeycomb grid. The 4mm lip applies pressure only to your material, not to the bed itself. Under normal use, they cannot gouge, dent, or distort the honeycomb.

Q: Will these damage my laser head?

No — LaserLok bars are designed with a low-profile height that has been tested with a standard 2” focus lens, ensuring the laser head can safely pass over the bars even when they’re placed on top of your material for hold-down.

However, always re-check clearance if you switch to a different focus lens.

Lenses with shorter or longer focal lengths may position the nozzle higher or lower relative to your material, which can change the safe travel height. Perform a quick clearance test whenever changing lenses to confirm proper spacing.

Q: Can I buy multiple and connect them?

Yes — The SmartAlign™ ports allow you to connect multiple LaserLok bars and place them end-to-end for longer coverage, but they do not physically lock together.

They’re designed to be modular, so you can use as many as you need to cover any size material. Simply align them end-to-end to create a continuous hold-down line.

Q: Do the magnets shift inside?

No. The magnets cannot move.

Each magnet sits in a 0.2mm tolerance pocket that is printed as part of a single-piece solid body, so the magnets are permanently encased and locked in place. They will not shift, slide, or rattle during use.

Q: What materials will it hold?

LaserLok bars work with a wide range of materials, including:

Acrylic, leatherette, plywood, patch sheets, rubber, MDF, cardstock, chipboard, engraving plastics, and more.
